OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITY
- Know how to stop the CHP quickly in case of emergency.
- Understand the use of all CHP controls, input and output, and connections.
- Be sure that anyone who operates the CHP receives proper instruction. Do not let children operate the CHP. Keep children and pets away from the area of operation.
- Place the CHP on a firm, level surface and avoid loose sand or snow. If the CHP is overturned or sinks into a soft surface, sand, dirt, or water may enter the CHP.
The generator set may be required to operate for long periods of time without an operator on hand to monitor such engine conditions as coolant temperature, oil pressure or rpm. For that reason, the engine has several devices designed to protect it against potentially damaging conditions by automatically shutting down the unit when the oil pressure is too low, the coolant temperature is too high, the coolant level is too low, or the engine is running too fast.
